First release in preparation

Infinite control over your processes.

Your people set the rules. The processes follow them.

Rules first. Then automation. AI only where it helps.

Almost every process can run automatically, and most processes need no AI at all. What they do need is control: who may decide what, which rules apply, and what happens when things don’t go to plan.

InFinIT Control is software that keeps people in control of their organisation’s processes. Email info@infinitcontrol.com

How it works

  1. Define

GovernanceThe agreements on who may see, read and write what, and who decides what. The system keeps to them.: who may see, read and write what, what an employeeA person or an AI doing work under roles and rights. To the system, a human and an AI employee are set up the same way: the same rights, the same limits, the same visibility. decides alone, what a supervisor reviews, what goes up to the board. Then the registersA data table in InFinIT Control: rows with fixed columns and rights per register, row or column. Registers hold your organisation’s data and agreements. and the processesA process has two parts: the declaration, which says what it may read and write, what it asks a person and which services it calls, and the process logic, the rules it carries out.: registers hold your organisation’s data and agreements; every process has a declaration and its process logic, in a process language close to everyday language. AI can help find the declaration and the logic; people sign them off, per run modeThe mode a process runs in, for instance development or production. Per run mode a process can have its own declaration: what it may then read, and where it writes..

  2. Understand

In a digital twin, a simulation environmentA copy of your processes in which nothing happens for real. You replay not only the past but every scenario you can think of, and see at once what the result would be., you build understanding: of your customers, your processes, your opportunities and your challenges. Scenario analysis is the means: what-if scenarios, and the past replayed. Had we always worked this way, what would the outcome have been? That is how you build confidence that you are robust in the scenarios you foresee, before anything goes live.

  3. Let it run

The system carries out the rulesMostly without AI, sometimes with a little AI, sometimes with AI throughout., flags any deviation and keeps to the limits people have set. Exceptions go to people. The more that has been mapped out, the more the system may handle by itself.

Our starting points

At InFinIT Control everything revolves around processes, governance and control.

  1. Most tasks need no AI at all. They need decision logicThe rules that decide what happens in each situation. that a person is responsible for.

  2. We know what happens when an organisation has to succeed in the real world. What matters then is not whether you have worked out the standard cases properly, but how robust you are in a regime changeWhen something that worked for a long time stops working because the world has changed: a new technology, a new law, a new insight., and how well you handle exceptions and emergencies. That takes common sense.

  3. AI can help find the decision logic in your existing processes and put it into a framework. People sign that logic off.

  4. Where people and machines work closely together, clear agreements are needed. Who may see, read and write what? What does an employee decide alone, what does a supervisor review, and what goes up to the board?

  5. Whatever is automatedMostly without AI, sometimes with a little AI, sometimes with AI throughout. must remain testable. For that, a digital twin comes in handy: a simulation environment in which you run your processes before they run for real.

  6. The system advises, and handles what people have entrusted to it. People decide, on that too and on the few hard limits the system guards.

Our principles, in short

  • As simple as possible, but not simpler.
  • Maximum homogeneity: the same form everywhere.
  • Everything revolves around decision logic.
  • One control frameworkOne set of rules and agreements. in which everything is laid down and in which people and machines both exist.
  • A lexiconGlossary: what each term means, and what it does not. with clear definitions, including where the same term means something different in different places.
  • One organisational brainAll digital processes together in one whole that everyone contributes to, all the time; what one records, another can use. There is deliberately only one: two chefs in the kitchen doesn’t work. that everyone contributes to, all the time.

All eleven principles are on the background page.

What InFinIT Control is

Under construction: the components below are in development and not yet available.

Define

  1. Decision support

Every decision comes with the information, the rules and the trail behind it: who decided what, when, and why.

  2. Ontology-driven

One coherent model of your terms, data and processes: an ontologyA coherent description of which terms exist and how they relate to each other., built on a lexiconGlossary: what each term means, and what it does not. with fixed meanings.

  3. Enterprise governance

The governance layer lays down governanceThe agreements on who may see, read and write what, and who decides what. The system keeps to them. as agreements the system follows and makes visible: roles, rights, thresholds and sign-off.

  4. Low-code / no-code

Adjust things yourself, without programming: every processA process has two parts: the declaration, which says what it may read and write, what it asks a person and which services it calls, and the process logic, the rules it carries out. is written in a dedicated process language, close to everyday language. The people who own the processes read and improve them in that language themselves, with AI to help where they want it. Our aim: external consultants or developers no longer needed.

  5. Flexible registers and language

Exceptions are simply part of how the world works. That is why the registersA data table in InFinIT Control: rows with fixed columns and rights per register, row or column. Registers hold your organisation’s data and agreements. and the process language in our framework are flexible: you simply fix an exception with a row in a register or a rule in the process language, exactly where it is handled.

Understand

  1. Digital twin

In InFinIT Control you can easily create a digital twin of every process and run it on historical or fictitious data before it goes live. That ease makes scenario analysis routine. It serves one purpose: understanding of your customers, your processes, your opportunities and your challenges, and confidence that you are robust in the scenarios you foresee.

Let it run

  1. Smart harness

Hard rights around every process, the same for people, processes and AI: what it may read, what it may write and who may change that. The system keeps to them, and the limits are visible.

  2. Multi-agent systems in one organisational brain

An agentA process that carries out tasks on its own, with or without AI, under the same roles and rights as an employee. need not be AI: it can just as well be a stand-alone, deterministic process with no language model at all. Every agent works in the same smart harness as an employee: the same roles, rights and limits, and it is identifiable in everything it does. That way the digital processes you record in it come together in one organisational brainAll digital processes together in one whole that everyone contributes to, all the time; what one records, another can use. There is deliberately only one: two chefs in the kitchen doesn’t work..

  3. Central intranet

Closes the loop between data, dashboard and decision: you decide straight away on what you see, and you see the effect on the same dashboard.

  4. Decision papers with AI

A module that works issues up into well-founded decision papers, based on your organisation’s own policies and the laws and regulations that apply. Our aim: better prepared than your company secretary could manage a few years ago.

Buzzwords, and our view

Everyone sees them go by. This is what the market means by them, and how we look at them.

Agentic AI

Market: AI agents that carry out tasks and take decisions on their own.

Our view: an agentA process that carries out tasks on its own, with or without AI, under the same roles and rights as an employee. need not be AI; it can just as well be a plain deterministic process without a language model. With or without AI, an agent works under the same roles, rights and limits as an employee. Most tasks need no AI at all; they need decision logic that a person is responsible for.

Agent harness / smart harness

Market: the software layer that gives an agent its tools, memory and safeguards.

Our view: the smart harness is a fixed set of hard rights around every process, the same for people, processes and AI: what it may read and write, and who may change that. The system keeps to them, and the limits are visible.

Human-in-the-loop

Market: a person who approves now and then, often as a stepping stone to full autonomy.

Our view: people sign off the logic and decide what the system may handle by itself. Autonomy is earned, per kind of decision, and extending it is always a human decision.

Guardrails

Market: filters that stop AI from saying or doing something wrong.

Our view: limits that people set: roles and rights, laws and regulations, contracts. The system holds firmly to those; everything else it flags, visibly.

Control plane

Market: one place where IT sees and manages all agents.

Our view: one control framework in which everything is laid down and in which people and machines both exist. Not just for agents but for all processes.

Digital twin of the organisation

Market: a living model of the organisation.

Our view: a simulation environment that runs the same logic as production, as far as possible unchanged. Had we always worked this way, what would the outcome have been? Only when it adds up does it go live.

Decision intelligence

Market: AI that recommends or takes decisions.

Our view: every decision comes with the information, the rules and the trail behind it, and decision papers that prepare issues for decision on the basis of your own policies. The decision stays with people.

Process orchestration / process OS

Market: one layer that brings people, systems and agents together in a process.

Our view: processesA process has two parts: the declaration, which says what it may read and write, what it asks a person and which services it calls, and the process logic, the rules it carries out., data and rules in one form, with exceptions exactly where they are handled. Standard cases run automatically; exceptions and shifting rules are the real work.

Low-code / no-code

Market: building without programmers.

Our view: a process language close to everyday language, in which the people who own the process read and adjust it themselves, with AI to help where they want it. Our aim: external consultants or developers no longer needed.

Company OS / enterprise brain

Market: one platform for all your work and knowledge.

Our view: one organisational brainAll digital processes together in one whole that everyone contributes to, all the time; what one records, another can use. There is deliberately only one: two chefs in the kitchen doesn’t work. that everyone contributes to, all the time. What one records, another can use.

Ontology / context layer

Market: the layer that tells AI how your organisation fits together.

Our view: one coherent model of terms, data and processes, with a lexicon that records what each term means and what it does not. Including where the same word means something else elsewhere.

AI governance

Market: policies, audits and certification around AI.

Our view: governanceThe agreements on who may see, read and write what, and who decides what. The system keeps to them. lies in ‘you can see it’: every change recorded in a registerA data table in InFinIT Control: rows with fixed columns and rights per register, row or column. Registers hold your organisation’s data and agreements., the previous text keptThree things under every change: the justification register (why, and whether a person or a machine wrote it), the trail (who did what, when, with the previous text kept verbatim) and the oversight layer that watches and can roll back in time., every justification marked as written by a person or a machine, and time to roll back.
